Wednesday's Devotional - 9/30/2026

Good morning! Much like 1 Peter, the Apostle Paul uses a connecting word to make an important point about how we should treat each other as believers. "Therefore" is a word that connects everything before it to everything after it.

In Ch. 1, Paul is thankful for the Philippian church. He moves from that into focusing and living for Christ. He encourages them about suffering and that it is not for nothing, but for the cause of Christ. That brings everything into focus of being unified in the mindset of loving one another. He gives us a portrait of what that looks like.

We find consolation in Jesus, not in the things of this world. We comfort each other in love, fellowship with each other and the Holy Spirit, and in godly affection and mercy. The goal of everyone should be to treat each other this same way with the same love, compassion, kindness and patience. Put on this mindset and see how it transforms into joy as you make a great day!
