Good morning! Colossians 3 is all about Christian lifestyle, character and behavior. It shows us how to live as a Christian and what that should look like. How we treat others says a lot about our walk and character. Do you treat people like Jesus did?
In the beginning of the chapter, it tells us to get rid of things that are ungodly and worldly. Lust, anger, rage, malice, filthy language, lying...too often I see people talking and acting just like the world but just sprinkle a little Jesus in their speech and think that makes them a Christian. It doesn't.
It makes you a hypocrite because there is a standard of conduct and behavior that God says is acceptable for those who bear His name. We are to live without worldliness. We are to be holy as He is holy. We are to get rid of all our former conduct. We are to act like we are the elect of God who are loved dearly. How are you doing with this?
We should be patient and compassionate with each other with kindness, holiness, love, mercy, humility and meekness. We should not point out faults like we're glad we found them out. We should walk alongside people, pray for them and lead by example. Act like Jesus. Forgive and keep forgiveness on credit so you can be quick show it instead giving bitterness a root. Do this and work at it each day as you make a great day!
