Good morning! Sometimes, someone is just triggered by something and start to lash out. The flesh often wants to retaliate. You know, you feel your blood pressure rising like the temperature in August as you think about how you want to tell this person off or give them the right hand of fellowship upside the head.
This may be gratifying for a moment, but the consequences are not worth the temporary angry fit. It is better to diffuse the situation with calm, soft words. I know, it's feels so much better to tell someone off, especially if they deserve it. But it is better to calm them down and see the why behind the emotion.
Even if you are right, the harsh word could cause things to worsen. People have been destroyed over harsh words in the heat of a moment. Be careful what you say and how you say it. Remember, you are to glorify God, not appease your flesh. Soft words are not a sign of weakness, they are a sign of wisdom. Choose your words carefully and prayerfully as you make a great day!
