Wednesday's Devotional - 10/07/2026

Good morning! Words are important, even small ones like "and". It makes a big difference. And includes things before it to things after it. In this verse, we see evidence for the Trinity; a word describing the three Persons of the Godhead.
They are namely God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul names them all in this verse. He uses "and" between all of them to mean they are all separate persons in one being. He is careful to name them all with distinction in name and function.
Many people get upset at the word "Trinity" because it is not in the Bible. But neither is "automobile", "hand grenade", "indoor plumbing", or "television" but we don't stop using them or believing in them because they are not in the Bible. The word "Trinity" was a word developed to describe what we see in Scripture.
All throughout Scripture, we see evidence of all three persons of the Godhead. The Old Testament prophesied about the Son. Proverbs 30:4 talk about the Son and the Father. We see the Holy Spirit coming upon people in the Old Testament and He's present at Jesus' baptism as the Father speaks in the New Testament. Don't get hung up on a word and miss the Lord. His love is too great to ignore. Receive the blessing from Him today as you make a great day!
