Good morning! Our standard for conduct is not other people, but Christ. Too many people try to base their Christian life on how others live it out. But God has given us a much higher standard to aspire to.
To be Christ-like is to be imitators of God. Jesus did what He saw the Father do and said what He heard the Father saying. He did it perfectly. That's why He is the standard. That's why in Hebrews it says to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
God is love and Jesus loved us as God loves us. Everything He did was to demonstrate that love. He loved God, so He was obedient even unto death. He loved us, so He went to the cross with joy and conquered it. He fulfilled everything needed to give us eternal life.
His sacrifice was costly. It became a sweet-smelling aroma pleasing and acceptable to God. When you understand that Jesus' sacrifice has made us dear children, you will desire to be an imitator of God. Live like you know what God paid for your sin. His love for you should inspire you to live for Him as you make a great day!
