Good morning! Under the law, the best we could hope for was atonement. That means we had to go to another man, take an acceptable sacrifice, let him go before God on your behalf, and God would deal with you in your sin through the sacrifice.
Atonement means to cover, or to bury. It does not remove your sin, it just covered it and buried it under the blood of a sacrifice. Jesus not only became the last sacrifice needed for sin under the law, but established a new and greater covenant to abolish the need for another man or sacrifice for your sins.
He not only covered and buried your sin under the law through His death, but through His resurrection, established redemption in the new covenant. Redemption means to remove as if it never existed. It means to release by payment of a ransom, to be delivered. Jesus has paid the final price needed for sin.
He is the last Man needed to go in to make a sacrifice for your sins. God has dealt with Him so that we can be sons and daughters of God. We are redeemed! His grace has paid the ransom and we are free in Christ! Receive the fullness of His forgiveness today and live free from sin as you make a great day!
