Tuesday's Devotional - 9/29/2026

Good morning! "Finally" is a word that connects everything before it to the next thing going to be said. It is a word that is telling us to pay attention because everything before this is pointing to what is important. Context matters.

1 Peter is about encouraging suffering saints in Asia Minor who are facing persecution and feeling displaced in a foreign land and culture that is not native to them. Peter encourages them and tries to bring their focus back to Jesus and taking care of one another in the church.

It's easy to forget what is really important when tough times are beating you down. Sometimes, we forget to take care of ourselves and each other because we're just trying to survive. True faith perseveres. It doesn't take a break because times are tough. Instead, it digs in deeper. It prays more intently and loves more intentionally.

Peter is remind those believers of these things. To have the same mindset of love, grace, care and keeping Jesus at the center of all they do and who they are. Be compassionate with each other. Love each other as siblings. Be kind and courteous to each other. Stay focused on how Jesus treated you despite the pain of the cross. Put this into practice as you work through trials and make a great day!
