Good morning! What is the greatest thing you struggle with that weighs heavy on you? I believe the greatest struggle we have as believers is continuing to believe the Gospel in every situation. Also, defeating discouragement is a tough thing to do.

It's not just sin but things in everyday life that cause us to doubt and feel discouraged. You have to learn to lay aside those things which drag us down and learn to run our race with endurance. Endurance comes from training and practice. How are you training to get your faith in shape?

When I watch my daughter run cross country or track races, those who are struggling do well gain strength to keep going from people cheering them on. In chapter 11, we see those who are marked with a life of faith. They are in that "cloud of witnesses" who are cheering us on in heaven to keep going and finish well.

The word "cloud" means a dense, all encompassing mass with the connotation of covering the whole sky. It's the only place in the whole Bible it is mentioned. It means there is a vast crowd further than the eye can see of witnesses who have finished their race of faith well cheering us on to the same. Run in such a way as to win. Keep going, know you're not alone and understand heaven is cheering you on to win so you can run your race well and make a great day!
