Good morning! One of my favorite verses of Scripture is Proverbs 14:12 that says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." It keeps me sober-minded about my decisions and how I approach life. Jesus taught us this in this passage.
He tells us there is a way that leads to life and it is not the easiest path. It is the path that is worth the effort, though. The narrow gate is not the easiest to traverse. It means to fit through it, you have to let go of some things in order to fit. What baggage are you trying to hold onto that is leading you to destruction?
The broad way is easy to fit through and everyone can fit through it. But it leads to destruction (death). The narrow gate is not the one that thinks all roads lead to God and all will find it eventually. No, it knows that Jesus is the narrow gate we must go through to get to God and apart from that, there is no way to get there.
This is why Jesus said there are few who find it. Not everyone is willing to humble themselves, let go of sin and selfish ambitions, and accept His way as the truth. It takes dedication and consecration. But, it is so very worth it! Jesus is worth it! Go through Him and let Him give you eternal life. Live for Him and you will always have the joy to make a great day!
