Thursday's Devotional - 9/17/2026

Good morning! Parents sometimes feel like they are personally responsible for their children's salvation. But that is too big of a burden and responsibility for anyone. Jesus is the one who saves. Your responsibility is to teach and train your children how to know Jesus.
You can't make the decision to know Him for them. They have to make that decision for themselves. So, you train them in the ways of the Lord. Teach them to keep His commands. But most importantly, show them by example how to have a relationship with Jesus. That is what will stick more than rules for the sake of religion.
A relationship with Jesus is greater than merely keeping a set of rules or moral codes. Teach your kids, grandkids, or any children you can how to love Jesus. That is what will outlast any religious duty or obligation. Trust in Him to lead them and remind them of what they learned from you. If they get a relationship with Jesus, they won't depart from it. Be diligent with your kids as you make a great day!
