Thursday's Devotional - 7/16/2026

Good morning! Sometimes, the most intoxicating thing people indulge in is pride. They rely on their talents, abilities, education and intellect and let God take a backseat to only crisis situations. What the ego does is Edge God Out.

We need to think soberly about ourselves to see us as God does. Too often, people have an inflated sense of entitlement because of how they think of themselves. But God opposes the proud and give grace to the humble (James 4:6). True strength is recognizing that without Jesus, we are powerless against sin.

He looked weak to His enemies but He was the only one who conquered sin, death, hell and the grave. Put your faith in Him and know it is only by His hand that we have the power to do anything of any moral good (John 15:5). It is only by Jesus do we have forgiveness, redemption and true purpose. He is the key to eternal life and that is the most important advancement we can ever receive. Thank Him for His grace as you make a great day!
