Good morning! Psalm 42 and 43 are almost one thought in two parts. They share a phrase that is the writer reminding themself to stay focused on God no matter what is going on around you. That is where our true help comes from.
These 2 Psalms were very important and instrumental to my life as a new believer. I had been delivered from depression and bi-polar disorder and the enemy was trying to bring back old feelings and emotions to drag me down. I used these Psalms to encourage myself and stay focused on my Deliverer.
It gave me ammunition against the enemy. I reminded myself and also the enemy that I belonged to God now. I wasn't going back to that place. I didn't have to and neither do you. You don't have to go back to the places that had you bound, in sin and broken. You can remind yourself and the enemy that you belong to the one true God.
You are no longer who you used to be. And the enemy has no place in you any longer. He is the God of your life. Learn to encourage yourself in the Lord. When the enemy comes to remind you of your past, remind him of his future. Put this into practice as you make each day a great day!
