Saturday's Devotional - 9/05/2026

Good morning! Sometimes, you need a pep talk. Sometimes, you need to be the one giving yourself that pep talk. You won't always have the preacher, the worship team, the deacons, elders or your best friend to help you. You need to be able to encourage yourself in the Lord.

David understood this principle well. He did it often. He taught himself how to defeat discouragement by reminding himself of the Lord's goodness, power, strength, sovereignty, grace, mercy and love. He chose to live for the Lord despite the constant threats against his life and turmoil he faced daily. He understood if he set the Lord before him and walked in His ways, the Lord's mighty right hand would be with him.

If the Lord was with him, who could really stand against him? He didn't have to back up and give in. He could stand firm against all his enemies. Not just the physical ones, but the spiritual and mental ones, too. Set the Lord before you and let His mighty right hand protect, guide and guard you as you make a great day!
