Good morning! Leviticus 19:18 contains one of the most profound commands in all of Scripture: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Spoken to Israel as part of God's instructions for holy living, this command reaches beyond simply avoiding harming others. It calls us to actively seek the good of others with the same care, compassion, and grace we naturally desire for ourselves.
Loving our neighbor is not based on whether they deserve our kindness or share our opinions. It is a reflection of God's own character and a tangible expression of our love for Him. Every act of patience, forgiveness, generosity, and encouragement becomes an opportunity to demonstrate His love in a world that desperately needs it.
As Jesus later affirmed, this command remains at the heart of a life that honors God, reminding us that genuine faith is revealed by the way we treat those around us. It is a direct reflection of our relationship with God and not merely our own moral character. Find ways to love others the way God has shown His love for you. In this, others will see His love and perhaps turn their hearts to Him. Ask God to help you with this so you can always make a great day!
