Saturday's Devotional - 7/04/2026

Good morning! America turns 250 years old today. WOW! America is synonymous with freedom and despite what many are saying today, America was founded on Biblical principles. God is woven throughout all our founding documents and is designed for a Christian society.

In the Treaty of Paris of 1783, the preamble states, "in the Name of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity" acknowledging God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as the foundation for the peace and freedom of the United States. The foundation of America was founded on the One who gives true freedom and this is why it has been sustained for so long.

But, if we are not careful, we will lose those freedoms if we do not follow Christ. I say this as an American who has rich history in my family lineage of fighting for this country's independence. If we do not hold fast to our foundation of godliness, we will not survive. Mankind can only do so much to maintain freedom. True freedom only comes from the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

John Adams, a Founding Father and the 2nd president of the United States, is quoted as saying, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." America needs to hold fast to Christ and remember its foundation as a people. Pray for revival of this great nation and may we truly celebrate the freedom Christ has given us and sustained for 250 years. Be safe, be smart and remember Jesus as you make a great day!
