Friday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Writer's picture: Bret SanorBret Sanor

Good morning! Trapping animals in today's culture is a bit taboo to most people. In the day in which this was written, it was common and so the picture it paints is powerful. A snare is placed in a well used trail an animal takes and set at head level.

When the animal goes down the trail, the loop of the snare goes over its neck and snares it. It tightens enough to keep it, but not enough to kill it. The snare is anchored to the ground or a tree to keep the animal from escaping. It keeps it confined to the length of the snare.

The trapper comes and either lets the animal go or terminates it. Trusting in man traps you and confines you to the control of others. It is a trap of the enemy that sets you up for disappointment, failure, betrayal and even death.

But to trust in the Lord brings freedom, trust, assurance and life. Trust in the Lord and He will not fail or hurt you. Let Him teach you how to live free as you make a great day!
