Friday's Devotional - 9/11/2026

Good morning! Often, people think unity means we are like robots that all are programmed the same way for the same thing all doing it at the same time. We're not robots. God doesn't want us to be robots or act like them. Unity is something different.

God wants us to be of the same mindset with the same goal, but all working in our different functions towards that same goal. The human body has many different parts that all have unique functions. Without them working together as a unit doing what they were designed to do, the body wouldn't survive or be hindered in its capacity.

So it is with the body of Christ. Each person in that body has a unique function God designed for them to do. When we function in that design, the body is healthy and effective. If we seek to do something that we view as more valuable or worthwhile but are not designed to function in that capacity, we hinder the health and functionality of the body.

In the body, we not only have something to do, but we have people to serve. We serve one another with the gifts and callings of God. We find belonging and community. We find acceptance and love. We find health and healing. We find Christ at work. Do what God has given you to do and do it with excellence in service to Him and the body as you make a great day!
