Good morning! There are many definitions of what people think love is and what it looks like. But opinions are not truth just because you strongly believe it to be true. God's word is truth and will last forever. What He says about love is truth and the standard we should use to measure love.
Love is not mean, hateful, manipulative, coercive, divisive, envious, prideful, rude, selfish, easily offended or evil with its intent or practices. It does not dishonor God, people or itself. It is patient and kind. How does this fit with your own definition of love? Does it align with God and His definition?
Love should exude and exemplify holiness, righteousness and justice. It should honor God and His word. It should honor people and treat them with dignity. True love gives value and worth to others. It leaves them better than they were found. How are you loving? Remember, each person is God's creation, rather they act like it or not or agree with you or not. Treat them like Jesus so they may see Him in you. Pray to keep yourself in the love of God so no matter what you face, you can make it a great day!
