Good morning! Oftentimes, when someone wrongs us, we want justice and revenge. We want them to hurt like they hurt us. But we must be careful. If you sow revenge, do you think you will reap righteousness? We must let God avenge His own and leave room for His justice.
If you seek to justify your behavior, you prove yourself to be a lawbreaker (Galatians 2:17-18). If we seek to do fleshly things, we will end up in destruction. If we seek to live for God by the Holy Spirit, we will have eternal life. Which do you want?
It seems easy to answer that until you are tested and act without thinking or praying before you respond to trials. God sees all. That should put a healthy fear in us to seek to do right. Jesus was traveling through an area and was rejected by the people. His disciples were offended and asked Jesus if they could call down fire on those who rejected Him.
Jesus rebuked them harshly saying, "You don't know what manner of spirit you are of. For I did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." (Luke 9:51-56) We must be careful how we live and what seeds we sow. Sow to the Spirit and reap eternal life. Then, you will always in the love of God and able to make each day a great day!
