Good morning! I live in northeast Ohio and we had a pretty hot summer. It was unusual to have so many days near, at or above 90 degrees. A cold drink of water really felt good especially after mowing my two acres of lawn.
As summer progressed, we had less and less rain. The land became dry and cracked. Mowing became a very dusty job and we even were declared to be in a drought. We longed for rain to come soak the ground and bring the relief.
The rain finally came enough to make things grow and the ground to become soft again. Sometimes, life can come hard at us and cause things to happen that leave us hard and barren like the soil in a drought. We can grow bitter and that soaks up all the living water inside of us. We can become like the land that dries up, grows hard, cracks and can't sustain life.
We can cure it by forgiving, seeking the Lord and acknowledging He alone the source of life. We need Him and our deepest needs can only be satisfied when He is our Lord. Jesus fills us with love and the living waters of heaven. We no longer thirst when we drink of Him. Let Him fill you in the places your heart is dry and cracked. Let Him rain down with His love and refresh you so you can live again and learn to make each day a great day!
