Wednesday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Worship is not a spiritual gift. It is an intentional act done out of a choice to bow in acknowledging God as greater and worthy of praise. It's not about the songs we sing, but the posture of our heart that dictates true worship.

If we make it about what songs we like or style of music we do, we're worshiping our preference and should not expect His presence. Worship is about Jesus, the One who suffered and died on a cross and rose to life again three days later.

If we make worship about anything or anyone else, we have made an idol. We praise Him for His marvelous works which are too many to count and too vast to fathom. His word accomplished it when He spoke forth and created life.

His word is absolute truth. His name is great, but His word gives His name value because His word demonstrates His power, His will, His intentions and His heart. He is motivated by love, for He is love. So, His word is above His name because His word causes things to happen and gives backing to His name. He does what He says He will do. Praise Him today as you make a great day!
