Wednesday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Have you ever been a part of a conversation where there is a back story you had to know before understanding the context of what is being talked about? That is a bit like the verse here today.

It's in the middle of a passage of Scripture, that without the context, it's hard to understand what is being said. Ephesians 4 has four sections and this is out of the the second talking about spiritual gifts and equipping the church for ministry. Not everyone is given the same gift.

If we all had the same function, there would be a lot of arguing and a lot of things that do not get done. Every gift has a purpose and a function to not only be equipped for ministry, but to equip you to equip others for ministry as well. Discipleship is vital to growing and being effective in your faith.

I encourage you to read Ephesians 4 today and get the full picture of how we are to be growing up in Christ. The more you know, the easier it is to serve in love. How we speak the truth matters and knowing how to speak it in love is the difference between life and death for some. Be loving in all you do and act like Jesus as you make a great day!
