Good morning! Living for Jesus means to do what He said when He told us to take up our cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23). It is intentionally laying aside your natural desires and living a life pleasing to God.
We do this by allowing Jesus to rule our hearts and minds. We die to self and live for Christ. What does this look like? It means you don't say what's on your mind when you want to tell someone off. It means you filter your thoughts, speech and actions through prayer, the word and worship.
It means you choose kindness, gentleness and self-control when you'd rather be crass, mean and fly off the handle in an emotionally charged moment. You let Jesus take control of your behavior and thoughts. You stay mindful of His cross so you don't forget to carry your own.
There are things He will ask of you that He doesn't ask of others. You will have personal convictions that differ from others. Your job is just to work out your own salvation with fear a trembling knowing obedience is crucial. Don't worry about others, you follow Jesus. Let His cross lead you to take up your own as you make a great day!
