Wednesday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! This verse is in the middle of a passage so, it can be a little hard to get the fullness of it without the context. Verses 2-3 says, "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,"

Reading that first helps us understand verse 4. By God's grace and divine power, He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Christ. We have everything we need to live as God has called us apart from sin and in holiness. This means we don't have to live as a victim to sin, but as overcomers through Christ.

You don't have to sin and keep on sinning. You can live in the power of God through Christ to turn away from sin and live above the temptations. We are in Christ and are a new creature. We are saved from the corruption of the world and alive in Him. Celebrate you are new and no longer in sin, but in Christ as you make a great day!
