Good morning! God always sends a messenger ahead of time to prepare the way for His intervention, deliverance or movement. This passage is talking about John the Baptist who would prepare the way for Jesus.
He was a unique man who lived in the wilderness, ate locusts and wild honey and preached a message of repentance. He pronounced the coming of Jesus and said He would be greater. He would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Many people listened with hope and gladness for the appearing of the Messiah. Many scoffed and did not listen to his message. The religious leaders couldn't contain the move of God and it made them angry, enraged, filled with hatred and murder. How do you react to the message of Jesus? Is there hopeful joy? Fear? Hatred? Jesus will reveal the condition of your heart. Let your heart be filled with joy and hope this season and may you receive Jesus as you make a great day!
