Good morning! The Lord was addressing false prophets and leaders in this part of the book of Jeremiah. He doesn't take lightly those who mislead His people and abuse their gifting for personal gain. He warns them to repent. The message hasn't changed.
Often people try to hide their sin from God as if He doesn't see it. But nothing is hidden from His sight. He is all-knowing and omnipresent. God doesn't seek to destroy us, but to restore us. This is why He sent Jesus instead of judgment.
He could have easily destroyed everything because of sin, but instead, He paid the ransom with Jesus' blood. All we have to do is come to Him, confess it, repent (turn away from it) and receive His forgiveness. He is merciful and gracious, kind and loving. Let His love help you to know you don't have to run from Him, but can run to Him in every situation to learn how to make even a bad day into a good day!
