Good morning! Jesus talked a lot about forgiveness because He was going to need to forgive a lot this week. He had to have a reserve of forgiveness built up in His heart to be readily able to forgive instantly. Even the most heinous of offenses.

One of His best friends, one of the twelve who followed Him everywhere and even would sit next to Him at the last supper table, would be one of His greatest offenders. Judas was a thief. No pretty way to say it. He always had his hand in the money bag.

It was prophesied that Jesus would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver in Zechariah 11. It was also prophesied in Jeremiah the Pharisees would use that blood money to purchase the potter's field. All of it came to pass. We might think poorly of Judas for what he did against Jesus. But how have you compromised and sold Jesus out in your own life?

Maybe it's being dishonest to save someone's feelings. Maybe it's not witnessing to someone in their time of need or when you felt God nudge your heart. Maybe it's joining in gossip, unclean speech or negative attitudes. Maybe it's avoiding someone in the store because you were to busy to say "hello." Maybe it's worse than that...I don't pretend to know, but God does.

The truth is, we've all sold Him out at one time or another and we need to be careful of temptation. Be on your guard, don't shortcut because it's easier or saves time and don't compromise. Jesus has paid a very high price to set us free from sin and death. Respect what He has done for you. Learn to keep your integrity, sanctify the Lord in your heart and you will always find a way to make a great day!
