Good morning! To sanctify means to set apart for sacred use. It is often used interchangeably for "holy". So, we should set apart our hearts for the sacred use of a dwelling place for the Lord. We have to have Him before we can defend Him.
I can't defend what or who I do not know. But it is easy for me to defend what I am well acquainted with. The more I know about it, the better I am at defending it. How well do you know Jesus? How deep is the well of hope inside of you?
I know Jesus and when I defend Him and what He has done for me, I try to do so with humbleness, gentleness and a fear of the Lord. I want to defend Him well. I want to give a good defense that glorifies Him and points people to a relationship with Him. Set Him apart in your heart, know Him deeply and be ready to defend the faith you have knowing souls are on the line. Do so with love, humility and compassion as you make a great day!
