Good morning! Religion has rituals, rules, doctrines and traditions. They may all be right and true, but they do not replace love. People can have it all right and still miss it because of a lack of love. Everything should done out of love.
Out of love for Jesus and for others. What good is it if you can move mountains with your faith but can't help a widow cut her grass? What good is it to have all the musical talent in the world to make a living from it, yet not go sing in a nursing home for an hour once in a while for free?
Love is not just an emotional connection, but an act of giving of yourself to help others. People are great at making themselves look good, especially online. Social media has helped that tremendously. But if we only look good online but never really do anything that benefits someone else, are we really good?
Is it really loving if the only person we glorify is ourselves? Love in such a way as to be like Jesus and bring Him glory. Be selfless and treat others like they are better than you. Yes, it is humbling and that's how God expects us to walk with Him. Jesus could have been arrogant, but He came in humility to love humanity so that we could all be forgiven if we turn from our sin and get the privilege to be called children of God. Think on this and love someone today as you make a great day!
