Good morning! This is more of the prophesy by Zacharias. This portion talks about his son, John who would be the one preparing the way for Jesus. He would pronounce the work Jesus would do and that He is the promised child they have been waiting for.
Even though this was given nearly 2000 years ago, they still ring true today and we have the same responsibility as they did in that day. Will we believe Jesus is the one or will we see Him as too common to be God? Will we receive Him or not make room for Him in our "inn" in our hearts?
How we see Jesus will determine how heaven sees us. We must see Him as He truly is, because rather we believe it or not, doesn't change who He is. He is Lord and the evidence is plentiful for us to believe. The greatest rebellion we will ever do is repentance. That's because we have to admit we are wrong, have done wrong and can't make ourselves right. We have to deny everything we've ever known, who we are and confess Jesus is Lord.
It doesn't come naturally. It is truly a rebellion against everything we gravitate to in our natural flesh. But when we do, we become born again and Jesus makes us a new creature. It's the greatest thing I've ever done and the greatest gift I've ever received. I pray this Christmas season you receive it too if you haven't already. If you have, I pray you encounter Jesus in a new, fresh way that makes His love for you even more real. May you be blessed as you make a great day!
