Tuesday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Some people try to fit an infinite God into their finite mind. They have a very tough time understanding God, the things of God, the nature of God and the word of God. This is because it is not understood merely by intellect alone.

God is Spirit and those who worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth. It's hard to logically understand God because our logic is flawed by our sinful nature and is not eternal. Our spirit is eternal and that is what needs awakened to understand God and the things of God. Logically alone will leave us in a state of dismissal thinking it foolish.

But when the Holy Spirit draws us to the Father through the preaching of the word, the truth is revealed to us and we wake up from our spiritual slumber. We become alive through faith in Christ and the veil that has us blinded to the spiritual reality is taken away. It seems utterly ridiculous for a righteous man to die for a guilty one.

It seems insane that a perfect God would want anything to do with imperfect people who have a list of sins that reach to heaven. But He does because He is loving and just. He desires for us to know and love Him because of His great love for us. He sent His Son to be known and make God known to us that we would see the goodness of God, turn to repentance and live for Him by receiving eternal life. Let the Spirit of God help you discern all things to help you always make a great day!
