Tuesday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! All my life before knowing Jesus was selfishly lived, even if I didn't see it at the time. All my good deeds were still just works of death that would not bring me salvation or undo the bad things I did.

Apart from Christ, there is no good in me or any works worthy of praise. This is why when I came to Him, I had to die to my self and take on His life so I could live. At first it seemed like a lot to give up, until I realized that letting go actually freed me.

Knowing Christ is so much greater than what I was holding onto. Knowing Him is true gain and true wealth. Nothing even compares! So, for me, to live is to die and what I gain is Christ. His life is true life and the only life worth living. Before Him, I really didn't have life. Now, I not only have life, but have eternal life, the abundant life He died to give me. Thank Him for His life that leads us to true gain as you make a great day!
