Tuesday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Writer: Bret SanorBret Sanor

Good morning! How is your prayer life? Hopefully thriving and vibrant. Sometimes I find myself complaining rather than praying. It is as if I have forgotten who I am talking to and have no faith at all in Him to come through.

I remember really fervently "praying" about my problems and the Lord stopped me. He said, "What are you doing?" I said, "Praying, Lord." He said, "Is that what you call that? Sounds like complaining and grumbling to me and I do not want to hear that. Come back to me when you have some faith." Ouch!

I immediately repented and opened up my Bible to passages like this. I began to speak to the nature of God rather than the size of my problems. He answered my prayers once I prayed the word and praised Him for who He is.

Let your prayers be filled with praise to remind Him of who He is and remind you of who you are praying to. It's easy to lose heart in the midst of your trials but keep the word close to your heart so you will pray effectively in faith and not complain in fear. Praise Him in your prayers as you make a great day!
