Thursday's Verse of the Day Devotional

ree

Good morning! Jesus warned us in the last days that things would get hard. It would be full of all kinds of evil and turmoil. He told us it was important to keep yourselves in the love of God because the love of many would grow cold. How's your love for others?

The Bible says in the last days, God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh. I believe it will not look like all the fanfare of things many people want it to be, but an extraordinary love being given to us for lost people who may be hateful, violent, vile and lewd.

Can you love those who oppose you? Can you love those who hate you? Jesus never said it would be easy; the cross wasn't easy for Him as they hurled insults at Him. But He still loved those people enough to say, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." He knew they needed love in the midst of their hatred. He discerned the situation instead of letting His feeling dictate His reaction.

As a result, He was given the name which is above every name and remained perfect in all His ways. He is our example. May you be filled with discernment and pray for it daily. May your faith be sincere, recognize things of excellence and be without offense. Then you will be approved by God as a good and faithful servant. Put this into practice, look to Christ and go out and make a great day!
