Thursday's Verse of the Day Devotional

ree

Good morning! I've been in ministry over half my life in one form or another. One of the traps I've had to overcome is feeling like I have to do everything. I am a gifted person who can do music, teaching, preaching, writing, administration, web design...etc.

This is a blessing and it makes me very useful, but some can take advantage of that. You have to be careful, because you doing all manner of things can keep others from being able to discover what they are gifted and called to do for the Lord.

I've learned in the last few years I need to equip more people to do what I know how to do and help them discover what they are created for. Also, helping them to be able to teach others to come up under them. This is discipleship. It takes a whole body to function as one being. If I lose my arms, I may still be useful, but I'm hindered.

If I have my arms, but keep them so full of things, I'm also hindered. We must let each member do their part in the body and find our part in the body. Many hands make for light work. There is nothing more fulfilling than to do the thing God has created you to do. Find that, do that and help others learn as you work together to make a great day!
