Thursday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! This is the day known as Maundy Thursday. It is the day that starts the events of Jesus' final moments of earthly ministry. His mission was nearly complete. He had done all He could to prepare His disciples for what was to come.

His final act of fellowship and ministry with them was serving them. It would have been easy to sit back and receive care, prayer and others pampering Him before His death, but instead, He chose to serve in the most humbling way those who were arguing about who is the greatest among them.

Jesus showed them the way to the greatest in the kingdom is to be the servant of all. Doing the lowliest of jobs, He served supper, initiated communion and washed their feet. He showed us what love really looks like and told us to do likewise. How much of His love fills your heart today?

Have you allowed His love to fill you to overflowing? It's easy to run out of love, especially for those who say they love you and stab you in the back. He knew it was coming and still served His betrayer. I challenge you to love like Jesus and serve those who hurt you most. In doing so, it will show them the love God has for them and it will help you to make every day a great day!
