Thursday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! A major problem I see in the American churches today is that many people are trying to go into the deep things of God without having the foundation firmly understood first. Everyone wants the latest, greatest and biggest revelation out there, but have no understanding of the greatest revelation of all; Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Some people are so deep, they are stuck. Before you try to understand Revelation and all the eschatological things, learn how to live in the simplicity of Jesus. Learn how to order your life God's way, manage your money God's way, manage your household God's way, how to pray God's way and study the word so you know the difference between the world and heaven.

I'm not saying don't study and desire to be deeper in the word. I'm saying don't get lost in the weeds while looking for food in the garden. No one puts up a house without first having a solid foundation. Otherwise, the house will crumble. Get the firm foundation of the gospel and then build on it. You will see the simplicity of the truth and living God's way that helps you live it everyday making every day a great day!
