Good morning! Every Spring, I have to pick up all the dead branches in my yard that fell from my trees in the Winter. Those branches have no leaves, are very dry and brittle. They have no more life in them because they no longer are attached to the source.
Jesus is the source of life that we must stay attached to to be alive and bear fruit. Without Him, there is no life and no fruitfulness. He is the root that causes all things to grow. Without being attached to vine, you will die.
So many people use the phrase, "I got this!" or "You got this!" and I know they mean well, but it is counterintuitive to what Jesus says. Apart from Him, we can do nothing or any moral good. We cannot bear fruit for the kingdom of God apart from Him bearing fruit in us. We must remain attached to the vine to be productive for the kingdom. Stay attached, grow and nourish yourself with the word of God and go bear fruit as you make a great day!
