Thursday's Devotional - 4/09/2026

Good morning! Babies desire milk because they know it has everything in it they need to sustain life and grow. It is the type of food they need and can handle. Some people who are babies in the Lord try to grow too fast and take in the deep things of the word without the foundation.

Before you try to understand Revelation or Ezekiel, understand the Gospels and the Epistles to know how to live the basics of life in the faith. Just as you wouldn't give a newborn baby a steak, so you shouldn't try to eat the meatiest parts of the word. You need the milk to grow and develop so you can handle the meat when it's time.

Don't be in a hurry to learn it all at once. It's good to be hungry for the word, but you will choke on the deepest things if you first don't understand the fundamental things. Keep your walk simple, don't over-spiritualize everything and do everything to draw close to Jesus in purity and grace. Through the word, He will help you learn how to make each day a great day!
