Thursday's Devotional - 10/29/2026

Good morning! My dad taught me some lessons on permissive verses perfect will. My dad's will was that I do what he said so that I did not get hurt. I kept pushing and bugging and nagging him about something. He finally said, "Fine, go ahead but don't cry when it doesn't turn out like you think."
Needless to say, I found out why you don't do certain things. That was a painful lesson on being in his permissive will instead of his perfect will. It is the same with God. He wants us to have His mind so we understand His ways.
We need to have our minds transformed to understand the perfect will of God. He doesn't want us to get hurt or hurt others. He desires for us to live in His will and obey His commands for His glory and our benefit. My mind was transformed when I learned the painful lesson.
I saw the love my dad had for me to protect me from my own ignorance and stupidity. God treats us the same way. Trust in His perfect will and He will always protect, keep, and lead you away from trouble and unneeded pain as you make a great day!
