Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! There are saying that sound right and moral, but are not aligned with God's ideals and values. It seems right to say love those who love you and hate those who oppose and hate you. But Jesus tells us to be sons and daughters of God, we must love, bless, do good to and pray for those against us.

This is a wild idea. It doesn't make sense, but I think that's the point. It doesn't take God to love those who love you and hate those who hate you. But it does take Him to help you love those who persecute you, to bless those who curse you, to do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you.

That takes Jesus living in you because within ourselves, it is not natural for us to do that. But to be sons of the Father, this is what we must do. The sun shines and the rain falls on all of us, so we must love each other with all wisdom and prudence in faith knowing it leads to eternal life. Learn to apply this teaching to your life, let go of offense and you will always know how to make a great day!
