Good morning! This passage is very often misquoted and taken out of context. Many interpret it to say, "God will never give you more than you can handle." That's not what it says nor what it means. The distinction is important.
First, we are all tempted by three categories of sin. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. The details of what tempts us may be different, but the categories of sin are the same. Temptation can be overwhelming, but God is faithful.
Second, God is not tempting you, but gives you an escape for every temptation. When Jesus was about to be arrested, the will of God for Him caused Him to sweat drops of blood in agony of knowing His assignment. He prayed asking for it to be taken away, but surrendered to God's will instead of His own. The cross killed Him. God gave Him more than He could bear as He cried out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
God gives you an assignment that is heavier than you can stand up under because if you could do it in your own strength, it wouldn't be His will. He wants to be your source of strength and for others to look past you and see Him so He gets the glory. Because Jesus was faithful, we can be faithful in Him. We can withstand temptation because Jesus is our way of escape. Trust in Him, lean on Him and let Him help you when you are overwhelmed so you can always have the strength to make a great day!
