Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! The Father really knows how to give the best gifts. Jesus is the best gift anyone could ever give or receive. It's not a gift that looks good but once you dig into to it, you find flaws and discover it wasn't what you thought. He is perfect.

God doesn't lie or oversell His gifts. What He gives is perfect and better than anything and everything else anyone could ever give in a thousand lifetimes. He doesn't play shadow games with us or make empty promises. He is true, He is light and He is holy. There is no darkness in Him at all.

A theme that kept ringing in my ears and burning in my heart this year was, "What will you do with what you have been given?" We have been given this perfect gift from above. What will you do with that gift? What is your response to God's goodness? Will you be greedy and keep it to yourself? Will you share it with whoever will receive it?

Be generous with the gift you have received. Do something for Jesus to honor Him and the gift of His forgiveness and eternal life. In your new year's plans, make plans for Jesus to be at the center of those plans. In everything you do, do it all for Him to the glory of God the Father. Let Jesus be the center of your life so you will always have what it takes to make a great day!
