Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! So, imagine that you are a man about to marry your fiancé and you learn she is pregnant. Then, she gives you a story about still being a virgin and God had sent an angel to her to tell her she would be impregnated by the Holy Spirit with the Son of God. What would you do?

Joseph was faced with that scenario and instead of blowing his top, exposing her, having her stoned for adultery and bringing shame upon her, he settled to quietly divorce her so as to keep her dignity in tact as much as possible considering the circumstances.

That takes a lot of love. Even though they weren't legally married, in those days, once you were betrothed, there had to be a certificate of divorce if the relationship was to end. It was a complicated situation. Yet, Joseph loved Mary so much, that even though he sought to end things, he wanted to do so honorably because he was a righteous man.

God honored him by choosing him to be Jesus' earthly dad. He had the right lineage, the right heart and was from the right place. God sealed his faith by sending a messenger to him to ensure him Mary was righteous too and had not betrayed him. It put his mind at ease and dispelled all the confusion. God brought clarity and preserved His plan.

Maybe you're struggling with a situation right now that you didn't see coming and you're upset, confused, troubled and bewildered. Let God bring your mind peace, your heart love, your spirit faith and your body rest. Let His word wash over you and bring clarity to your situation. There is an answer and God is doing something is the midst. Trust Him and let Him help you so you can be at ease, enjoy this season and go make a great a day!
