Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! There is a specific lineage of people from which Jesus would come. God spoke through the prophets to point us to the ancestry so we could clearly follow the line that points us directly to the right one when He comes.

It also says He would walk in power and anointing to do the specific thing for which He was sent to do. The word "Messiah" means anointed or anointed one. God prepared Him, equipped Him and appointed Him to do a divine work that only He could do. The Spirit of the Lord rested on Him.

The Spirit of wisdom and understanding that could not be fooled by even the most educated arguments, conversational traps or sticky situations of the religious leaders of the day. The wisdom of this world had no success in winning against the wisdom, counsel and might of the Lord.

His knowledge confounded the wise and put the fear of the Lord in the heart of men. Jesus accomplished all that He was sent to do and was fully committed to do the will of the Father. Ask the Lord to fill you with a fear of the Lord that you would not sin against Him and do all that He has purposed for you to do. I pray you have the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel and might so you can always make a great day!
