Good morning! Sometimes, it can be hard to be obedient to God. Loving your enemies is not an easy task, especially when they are attacking you. But, that's exactly what Jesus did on the cross as He was being mocked, spit on and scorned. He chose to forgive.
It wasn't easy for Him to forgive, but it was necessary because He couldn't forgive, how could He ever expect us to? It wasn't His moral duty that disciplined Him to forgive though. It was His passion for loving His Father, God.
Love is greater than legalism. When you truly love God, you will do what he wants. Not just because you have to in order to be a good disciple, but because His love forgave you when you deserved punishment. You can have a passion for Him that is deeper than mere duty. It helps you to do the difficult tasks and love those who hate you. Fall in love with the Lover of your soul and carrying out this verse will be your delight. Make a great day!
