Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! It's very easy to speak in a negative manner and it can be contagious. Have you ever been around someone who constantly speaking negative? Ever notice they are always trying to get allies and agreement with what they're saying?

Do not join in with them but rather speak life where they speak death. Jesus taught us to be careful with our words and not to have idle words. He taught us our words have power and to be careful what we say. Are you careful or careless with your words?

Our words should not bring hopelessness, but hopefulness. It should not bring destruction, but life. Our words should show people the answer, not fixate on the problem. Our words should impart grace that they may find Jesus and receive peace. Employ your words with heaven and say only what builds others up.

Sometimes, people who are negative are caught in a cycle and the way to break it is to speak a kind, loving word to them. That might just break the bad day they are having and help them to see the light in their darkness. A kind word, a compliment or a simple act of kindness can really change a person's life. Be like Jesus by speaking life and light into the darkness as you make a great day!
