Good morning! When I first read this years ago, I wondered what the secret place was and where it was. As I studied, I found the word secret means covering, hiding place, shelter, secret place. I had to look deeper for the rest.
God has a throne in heaven. He sits on it ruling and governing. If He stands, His enemies scatter (Psalm 68:1). The mercy seat, where the blood of Jesus was placed in heaven to atone for sin, is where God's throne is. According to 1 Samuel 4:4, God is enthroned between the cherubim on the mercy seat. So, He sits on the place the blood of Jesus is (Hebrews 9:11-28).
I am getting deep into Scripture with this because it is important for us to understand that where God is enthroned and where the blood of Jesus was placed to atone for our sins is where the secret place of God is. No enemy can go there and God cannot be dethroned. It is under the covering and shelter of God.
We are seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). So, what can the enemy really do when we abide under the throne of God and put our life under the blood of Jesus on the mercy seat? We are covered, hidden, protected, sheltered and abiding in the shadow of Almighty God. Hold your head up! Square your shoulders and prepare for battle. Your God fights for you! The enemy has to go through Him to get to you. So hide yourself in Him and fearlessly go out and make a great day!
