Good morning! I have very smart kids. They are gifted and are in the top percentiles for Math, Science and English/Language Arts in the state and the nation. They are smarter than I am. So, raising brilliant kids is tough.
How did I raise kids who are much smarter than me? On my knees, praying to the Father to give me wisdom from heaven and patience to be who I needed to be for Him, my wife and my kids. Seeing my kids worship, read the word and pray each day is what makes my heart proud.
They are a delight to me and let me tell you, they are much better kids than I ever was. No matter how old your children are, it's never too late to start teaching them righteousness. It is a process and one you must demonstrate more than you verbalize.
When you make a mistake, own it and make it right. When you have the opportunity to do wrong, keep your integrity. When you say something, follow through on it. Never stop living for Jesus and your kids will see the reality of Him in you. Then, they will follow Him and you can rejoice at the fruit. Do your best, pray for wisdom and always strive to please God as you make a great day!
