Sunday's Verse of the Day Devotional

Good morning! Before you knew Jesus, you taught yourself to give in to temptation and gratify your fleshly desires. You have to unlearn that behavior to teach yourself how to resist those desires and use self-control. It's not easy, but that's why dependency on Jesus is paramount.

In your own ability, you are powerless against sin. Even Adam and Eve, who were perfect, gave into temptation the first time they encountered it. You have to count the cost and know it is never worth it. The crown of life is good incentive to stand strong.

Be diligent to actively resist temptation and train yourself to resist instead of give in. Learn how to discipline yourself to endure and rely of Jesus to give you the strength to endure. We have a promise of a crown of life to stand on and motivate us to live a life pleasing to God. Live for Him because you love Him and let the Lord reward you as you make a great day!
